help with low level out put converter
so today I installed my friends subs in his new car. He does not want to use a deck so we used a high to low level out put converter. There was a positive and negative left, and positive and negative right, a power, a groud, a remote, and a green wire. I wasnt sure about what the green wire did so I left it. The amp would not turn on though, I used a volt meter and the remote wire was not getting any power. Im wondering if this has anything to do with the green wire that wasnt hooked up to anything. When i bridged the power and remote(input on the amp) the amp would turn on and i would get the music through the RCAS on the loc...

I'm not sure what model of LOC you have, some do not contain a remote wire at all... run an 18ga wire from the fuse panel (usually the radio/wiper fuse will give you 12v switched with the key) or you could meter the green wire you are unsure of to see if it will give you 12v to turn on the amp

yeah i tried metering it and got nothing, I did some research and it says I have to connect the green wire to a speaker wireOr a low voltage wire) Im assuming once it gets a low voltage it turns the remote wire on, I am going to try this tonight. I was also thinking of running a wire from the fuse box, I read somewhere if you do this you shoul;d put a 3 amp fuse on it. Is this true?
