Help me decide what to do
#1
Well, I hate the "what would you do" posts, but I'm going to start one. I'm trying to decide what equipment I should go with (out of what I have) for my new car. Although I'll probably end up trying different stuff, since we now have lots of snow and the weather is pretty cold (Winnipeg) I don't know how much time I'll have to spend playing around with stuff. So.....what would be the first try?
Here's some info:
-Car: 2003 Eclipse GT
-H/U: Eclipse 8053
-Speakers I currently have: CDT HD 3-ways, JL VR-525, Scan-Speak 5.5" Revelators...and of course the factory 6.5" and tweeters from the eclipse.
-Subs I have: Illusion Audio ND-10, IDQ12 v.1
-Amps: PG ZX450, PG ZXti600, PG Sapphire 3.0x, PPI Sedona 430ix, Clarion (I think it's the APX201.2).
I'm planning on using the PG ZXti600 on the IDQ12 (and being very carefull since that's alot more power than they're rated for). My main debate is should I just throw the CDT's in and use the PG ZX450 bridged, or do I go active and use the revs. If I go active, I could just go with a 2 way set (that 5.5" rev does pretty good for midbass) or I could get something for a dedicated midbass (or use the factory Infinity 6.5). I'm not sure what I'm going to do for a tweeter if I go active....but there's a few I've wanted to try.
So....here's the questions.
1. What to do for front stage.
2. If I go active, what tweets should I look at.
3. If I go 3-way active, what amps should I use for front stage.
4. What sub, and sealed or ported.
5. Anyone work on this model of Eclipse before? Any tips?
Sorry for the long post....just thought I'd get some opinions since I have to get this going before it gets super cold.
