Question Help with pioneer shallow sub..

I am having a hard time finding a sub that will fit in my vehicle and pound hard...

I have had 2 8" JL w3v2 (sealed box... hit ok but punchy 8's)
then I upgraded to 2 Hertz (audison) es 200's (hit ok but one commited suicide
and now one 12" pioneer ts-sw3041 in the bassworx box.. and it doesn't hit very hard at all...my amp is a JL 500/1 so the power shouldnt be a problem... its sourced from a Kenwood KVT617 head unit.. WTF. what will hit hard? I am going to try to tune the amp to the sub more.. but I hope someone can help!

This is all in a 87 S10 standard cab...

any ideas?

what is your max mounting depth? should be able to squeeze a coulpe reg 10 inchers in there. build a box yourself as well, that way you can build it to the shape behind your seats, and get max space available.

Lightbulb

Is it in that little tiny POS sealed truck box? If so, make or have made a competent enclosure for the sub. It's a decent woofer but that box is minimal.
