Help! Subs making funky smells!

yeah, most new subs will make a bit of a smell as already mentioned, but that doesnt mean that your gains are set correctly. I suggest maybe going into a local shop and having it tuned? if its a shop you deal with regularly, they may do it at no charge.

Is there any way to properly match your gains on your amp with your deck using a fluke meter?

Regular burn more than likely... Since the subs new you most likely just brekin her in..... keep it down a bit let her loosen up [img]tongue.gif[/img] than you can slam her! lols. But yeah regular burn voice coils heat up... glue starts to smell etc.

all the subs ive played with had this smell to some degree.

My L715 liked to produce that lovely smell while listening to Daz Dillinger's "my system" and late nite tip, when i had it turned up [img]smile.gif[/img]
