Help with tuning..

Heres my problem. I usually listen to rap in my car..but I do have a taste for some rock every once and a while. Bands like alexisonfire and lately circa survive.

I just put the circa cd in my car and unlike the rap i listen too, it sounds like the vocals are UNDER the beat. I get this with most of my rock..and some of the more acoustic rap I listen too. How can I fine tune this so it sounds a bit clearer. Im listening to the same song on my higher quality logitech computer speakers and it sounds perfect.

Thanks.

Simple solution could just be playing with some of the preset equalizers on the radio itself.

Yeah, I tried with that today. Its starting to sound a bit better. I also think it might have something to do with the bitrate of the music..

Most new radios have a feature that emphasizes the highs to make it sound like the tweeters are up by the windshield where they should be for sound clarity. It's a different name for different companies, but check if your has this feature.

More specifically you should have your hpf (high pass filter) on to cut out the bass from your regular speakers and your lpf (low pass filter) on also to cut the higher notes from your subs.

What model is your head unit?

Im using the HPF, but I havnt seen a LPF

Also, on my 4ch amp ive got the front components on High pass, and the rears on flat. Is that what it should be set at?
