hey have a few questions about amps? and what not

Ive got a kicker L5 2ohm dual VC, I have it currently in a 4.4 sealed... I plan on building a new vented box that's 4.4 net vented.... I want my sub to be fairly loud but in the same sense i dont wanna **** it up i herd 500watts would be decent but then the shop tellin me i coudl run the kx1200.1 to it so im not sure wut to do if yall dont mine could yall hlep me out with some amp choices!
