This question has been beat on a million times, but after doing some searching online, I still did not find a very basic explanation.

How does one wire it?

Does the power go to the positive terminal, and then from the positive terminal to the amp? Does it share a ground with the amp, or can it go on it's own ground? Can I use it before a distro block, or should I just reserve it for use with my high current amp? Also why is there a remote lead for it? Is there a specific way that I must discharge/charge it first?

Thanks
