How to setup Ipod to Aux AND have it charged
How to setup Ipod to Aux AND have it charged
Hey guys,
I am still new to this car audio stuff, but was wondering:
My deck isn't iPod ready, nor does it have a 3.5mm out on the face or in the back.
My question is, I have an iPod, and I want it to be as if I have an iPod dock in my car, where the iPod is being charged, and playing through the stereo, but at the same time I do not want to have it going through a FM signal. Does that make sense? Is there any specific cable/method to have this so I can basically use the iPod and have it being charged, but minus the need for a clear FM station?
Thanks alot, I know that the above was confusing, but I couldn't explain it any better,
Take care!
EDIT* Something like this I guess?

Get a car-charger for the ipod so it can charge off 12vdc and run a 1/8" banana -> rca wire into the aux in on your deck.
That or you can do some research on the ipod's proprietary plug (the port on the bottom of the ipod) and figure out which is the power/ground and audio outputs, get your hands on a spare dock, rip it apart and wire up the necessary wires that you need for power/audio (check the voltage requirements first, you will most likely need a transformer for the power) and mount the dock on your arm rest or wherever its convenient... this will give you the same effect but with a shitload more work/research.

Are you sure? Becasue acording to the manual there should be a CD changer port on the back of your deck. It maybe actually on the back plate of the deck or there may be a set of RCA inputs right beside your subwoofer output rcas.
