How should I set this up?
I will be pushing 2 Soundstream T4-12 12" 1800W Dual 4-Layer 1 Ohm subwoofers... they are 900W RMS, so how much power rms ratting of an amp should I get and I guess with a mono block there is only one channel so the subs would be wired to each other right then to the amp, thus giving each sub the full rms ratting of the amp? These subs say they are 1 ohm too... Thanks again for helping me, this is my first real upgrade from a decent starter setup. What brand amp would you recommend and wattage?
What exactly makes subs run at a lower independence? Is it when I hook up the subs to the amp so that it is bridged? Then that would make my 4 ohm sub run at 2ohms? If my sub is a 4 ohm sub can it run at 2 ohms? Couldn't I still get these subs and just have like a 3faret power cap or would I still need a high output alternator, and/or deep draw battery?
I saw some other soundstream subs they are 1000w I believe and either 300rms or 500... would those probably be my best option and are they still going to pound like crazy?
Thanks

What are the goals of the system and why have you settled in on Soundstream? What vehicle is this all going into and yes a big alternator is more than likely going to be a must have rather than a should have.

Well my buddy a few years back I don't really hang with him much anymore, but he had 2 soundstream tarantulas 1000watts rms each, dual voice coil, a custom made vented box, not even sure how much watts he was pushing to it, all I know is he had it going to competitions, got second place once with either 139 db or 129 can't remember. All I know is he had a 2 faret cap and a deep draw yellowtop or something battery and it was crazy loud... He had it in his jimmy.
So I've just always thought soundstream was my best option no? Is there now a better choice? I want my system to be loud but clear too, I hate distortion, but I want it to be noticeable when I want it to be, I also do not really want to change out the alternator, but then again I think I could probably get one online for relatively cheap... if that's the case then yeah I will go all out but could you recommend something else as well that would give me the results I wanted with just a cap.
Thanks again for your help.

Well I wouldnt say soundstream is your best option but its an ok choice... as for the power you are looking to run I believe that you will be better off with 1 15" t5 instead because unless you want to do serious electrical upgrades your not going to be able to run an amp that 1800wrms off of a stock electrical system. If you go with the 15" t5 I would go with an amp that pushes 1000rms into 1ohm. There are a ton of options and I would talk to a vendor on the site to point you in the right direction
