Nobody likes to get the shaft buying something and if I were buying a used sub that commands a good price, I would want some kind of backing behind it as well.
WCES started out as a SPL group but not everybody in it is SPL. harin101 is buying the subwoofer from me if he wants to. I take out my system during winter and just put it in during the season for the competitions (SQ).

Needless to say a blown sub just won't play or will sound like complete crap which I heard is not a good thing to sound like when competing in SQ. BTW a W7 is very hard to cook and close to imposible with a 1000/1. You'd have to do something incredibly stupid with that combo to do it.

This post was not intended to influence or change harin101's mind as he's getting a price lower then you can get a used one on ebay for so personally it makes no difference for me. Additionally, at the show you're coming to, there will be at least 50 people there who hopefully know a thing or two about subs.

I sample a bit from a number of genres... Tool, Megadeth, old Ice Cube, a few electronica tracks, a few bass tests (there's one that's does a slow sweep, let's you really hear how the sub does at progressivly lower frequencies) etc.

One really good album is a disc called 'Guitar Music for Small Rooms'. A very well recorded album, very musical bass.

Doesn't really matter what it is as long as it's a track you know, and have heard with decent bass.

Miluni, no offence intended in my post either. I treat every person with the same blanket when a used sub is the item being purchased. I have seen more than my share of bad used subs over the years with the seller claiming that they were never abused either. I have also seen some great used subs at the same time. Hopefully yours is one of the latter. I'm sure that if the sub is in great shape and sounds great after the battery of audio tests that one should give any used sub they are considering purchasing, that the deal will go thorugh and it will be good for both parties. From what I know of you here on the site, you have been above board with all parties and have been a good competitor in the local scene.
