I don't understand...

I've only got single voice coil subs.. thats all I've ever had.
I might get some pioneer TS-W3001D2 depending how much they are.
site says: "TS-W3001D2: Dual 2 ohm, 4 Layer, Long Coil (1 ohm x or 4 ohm)"
"Watts Nominal Power Handling 1000 Watts"
so if I were to get an amp for these (I'd get two), say a Sundown or Hifonics..
would I need a 2000W amp @ 4ohm? I don't really understand how you'd wire these dual voice coil subs. Can you guys explain this to me? Cause I'm kinda.. lost on it..

thats is a pure SPL sub!
and its very easy to connect.
you can connect it in 1\4 ohm impedance so you should look for 1 ohm stable mono that will give you around 1000w rms or mono that give you same rms power in 4 ohm impedance (that will cost you few times more!).
i had lots of good expiriance with hifonics amp sp i can to recommend on them but didnt had any expiriance with sundown but heared that they very good amps.

but if I want to run two of these I'd need a 2000w amp @ 1ohm??
Are those subs any good? If I upgrade sometime here I don't want cheap stuff.
I like my pioneer subs I got now, they seem okay and stuff, I just think my deck is letting me down...

if you need to work with 2 of those pioneers you need mono that can give you around 2000w rms in 2\8 ohm impedance if im not mistaking.
but i dont think that ordnery car alternator can provide you enough electrcity for this kined of amps.
you need to make some big electric impruvments in your car.

I might go with some lesser power subs..

What kind of car do you have? Those are good subs I ran the older ones last year and they handle power. Run them on 1500 rms 3000 watts peak for both and put them in a big box with big port.

2000 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L OHV "2200"
I have a Kenwood 8103D amp and two Pioneer TS-W1200C subs in it now.
My buddy thinks I shouldn't go any louder cause hes afraid the car will start to rattle apart.. The rearview mirror hasn't fallen off yet and all the windows are still in so..
Still learning all this audio stuff, terms and all.
I remember in about 2003/4ish I went to a car show at the Shaw conference center in edmonton, alberta... Pioneer had a black chevy dually and alpine had there civic si.. man that was what first got me into audio.. I remember this integra, the uh.. ones with 4 round headlights, they had one headlight taken out and a air filter out through it. and it had 3 subs firing up in a fiberglass box in the back.. man.. cool stuff for a then 5th grader.. lol. Don't know why I just posted that..
I'd like to build a box if I get some new subs. My moms friends got some woodworking tools and lathes and routers and such so I should be able to make one. I'll have to find a program that will give me diemensions or something.. It'll be a while before I get some subs, just checking it out, since I'll have to work over easter or something..
I remeber when I bought my 8103D and dash kit and stuff.. Blew my whole check at the audio store.. and like 4 months later it got all hooked up..
What I'm worried about is somebody breaking into my car and stealing all my stuff. My mom drives my car to work till she gets her pontiac vibe, drives like 3kms, but I doubt she'd take out my faceplate because"it involves computers too much" and I'm sure if she tried to take it off she'd probably break it.
sorry for the long post but I couldn't sleep.. lol.
