Have you ever witnessed one of these start a smoke show with just power and ground hooked up in your shop? For some reason the 80 amps in fusing didn't cook, just the 1.1000!

I've hooked up hundreds of amps. The failure rate on these don't cut it for me in my experience. Maybe Alpine Canada sends their seconds to B.C.?
My shop just did an install of 2 of these, and 15 minutes after the guy left the shop, he called saying one of them was smoking. I'm not big on Alipine either, but in my city, the only place that sells the stuff are a bunch of greasy crooks who sell above retail, and are WELL known for selling refurbs without letting the customer know. They give the customer the blue box, and then when the customer brings their vehicle in for install, the blue box goes back to stock and out comes the white box full of refurbished goodness. And even though it's the same building, technically their install shop is a "different" company then the retail store so they claim it isn't their fault that refurb is put in. Ya, you can say I`m not pro alpine, but I do hope your gear is ok

Can someone explain to me why Jay's sub amp input selector switch needs to be in the 0.1v - 0.4v mode instead of the 2v-8v mode? He's running the imprint box and for some reason his voltage is way low?

We spent a few hours tweaking the system this and it pounds great. i've suggested a second sub and a vented enclosure.

Has anyone else ran two type' x's vented off a pdx 1000? with good results?

HUGE thanks to avidedtr for spending a few hours of his time with me tonight, we basically turned the "imprint" curves off and went back to manual tuning fand he tuned the crossovers, the mids were crossed over at 200HZ for some reason, it sounded like poop and he adjusted the gain on the amps etc. let me tell you on the way back home it sounded MUCH better.

So after tuning it I came home and ran the IMPRINT again to see if it would "start" from the manual tuning and just get better from there......

So I chose the "Reference Curve" and the "Reference with Mid Range Comp" and I tried listening in my driveway to see if I could tell the difference however I didn't want to annoy the neighbours so I will know on my way into work tomorrow.

The one thing I did notice, is the Bass is REALLY low using the "IMPRINT Curves" I want nice BASS dammit.

Anyways, the other issue is mentioned above, if I put the PDX 1.1000 to the 2V-8V input I get zero output but when I put it to the 0.1-1V it plays as it should, the PHX-H100 should be giving me 4V out.

Again, thanks a lot avidedtr, really appreciate it!
