Nothing wrong with building the system up a step at a time. I have the last years model Pioneer Premiere has 12" subs on sale right now for $100 each and they are a incredible deal on a really good sub. Have the box built locally by Jalat so as to guarantee that the most important part of the system is done properly to match both the subs and the vehicle. Depending on budget it will tell me to send you on the one sub or two path and then what amp to choose to power them.

I can send you the specs and the box info. Also available at the Infinity web site.
Price *very* negotiable.. of course.. I have had them for a few years...

As for amps.. You should be ableto find some in the classified here too.

not knowing exactly what model sub that is it is hard to say.
plus I see some dammage to the foam surround..
Duel HU? he cant type right. and even if he did.. Dual is now just a cheap made in china brand.. stay away..

There are a lot of good people in here. The stuf they have for sale is usually top of the line at great prices

ya....dual is about as cheap as it gets. i'd pass on that setup if i were you.

the most important things are your headunit and amps. speakers just reproduce whatever sound is sent to them, so if you have a shitty dual headunit, the greatest sub in the world isn't going to sound quite right.

eeek not sure if every one would agree on that.... The speakers are the most important part.... and most difficult set of compromises. Most would say spend most on speakers..

i'm not saying speakers aren't important by any means, lol. but the speakers are only going to be as good as the source. if you have a shitty signal going into speakers, they aren't going to magically produce perfect sound. ..therefore spending loads of cash on killer speakers kind of defeats the purpose if you aren't going to have clean clear efficient power going into them.

why would you spend most on speakers as opposed to a headunit and amplifiers??

When i first started out i ran an intire mtx system, i got it cheap, and it was convientant for me...i don't have to many complaints with it, it was pretty tough and sounded decent but i've heard and have had alot better since. I'm running an intire alpine sytem right now and love it, i have two type r's and a 500m amp which is actually kinda small want to trad up for a pdx amp. and i'm running a non mechanical multimedia deck with serious and ipod built in. I amp quite happy with the system and like how everything works together with ease. I enjoy that more then jimmy rigging everything together. what are you thinking for a deck, see anything you like, certain features your looking for? one thing for sure is (hpf) really nice even with aftermarket speakers but a must with stockers. One other thing is that i noticed the disagreement on the speakers or headunit/amp first i would lean towards getting a good deck out of everything, when you have all the controls you need to tune your system it's alot easier to keep everything sounding nice and clear then having everything perfect and cheping out on the main control for the system. just my oppinion

hey myx_maniac, alpine makes some really nice stuff, i have two PDX amps, 1.1000, and the 4.150, they really are amazing amps. they are extremely efficient, quite underrated, tiny footprint, easy on the eyes, and sound surprisingly musical considering they are all class D amps. they are also very flexible because they produce the same power at 2 and 4 ohm, and you can stack them.
so if you are thinking of getting one, i would highly recommend them. certain amps out there boast better numbers or cheaper price, but as an overall package, these amps can't be beat.
