Interesting...

I was browsing available business opportunities south of the border this morning and I came across this:

World's largest car audio club! The Seller has built this business from nothing into the best car audio club in the world, especially as viewed by young men and teenagers. The club provides car audiophiles with events, competitions, and awards (as well as t-shirts, CDs, etc.), conferring status and an aura of success upon events (by sanctioning them) and upon the paying competitors (members). There is still much room to grow this business, as the club and its associated leagues do not yet serve half the states. Club membership was $1,800+ in September of 2005, and the club sanctioned and held 180+ events in 2004. Assets include four trademarks with an estimated value of $100,000 each - one for the club and one for each of its three divisions (leagues). The club has eight corporate manufacturer sponsors thus far, and more are planned. The club may be viewed as similar to a franchisor, and it has a 3,000+ name mailing list. The Seller has developed rules and criteria, and the club owns equipment for measuring the competitors' performance relative to these criteria. This organization has been brought to the threshold of an outstanding future in a relatively short period of time (six years) by its founder. The Seller is currently running the business in a highly proactive way and expects the 2005 season to be the biggest and most profitable thus far. This business is fully relocatable.
It seems this ad is outdated... but I wonder, which organization this might have been...

I thought it was all about the community????

ps. I'm not going to post the financials, but it was making a bit of money...

Its all about making money and breaking even (at the least).... You only say its about the community when it benefits you and you don't want to pay up.

It would be cool buy it, but i imagine its a ton of work.

Maybe emma,(pretty sure they were making a run at the market in 05) but there still pretty big over seas.. might just be someone making up there own league based upon what’s out there.
Slap show?

The way things have been declining in the SQ SPL not something I'd venture into. manufactures have been pulling away and with out them everyone else isn’t supporting it properly.

I'd like to see it all come back but it just doesn’t make sense when it comes to dollars and cents.. Its like a charity in our eyes, giving back to the industry ect.

Lightbulb

^ Could very well have been SLAP, based on the 4 trademark thing.

The rest are all older than that I think, other than maybe MECA..

True... SLAP seems to make more sense than IASCA given the timing on it (2k5)
