Inverted sub

Inverted sub
Is there any benefit to inverting your sub so that it fires into the enclosure as opposed to out? I am going to install a sub soon and I know it would look great with the big shiny magnet showing but I don't want to compromise sq or output (if only a little anyway).

There are some benefits... mounting inverted lets you build a box that the sub would otherwise never fit into, like my pics in the photo section... the DLS Sp12 would never have fit into that box mounted properly, but inverted it's pretty impressive, and if the motor's made for it and there's a flared hole in the pole piece, there's no noise unless you're cranking the volume.
