Ipod function on my new deck keeps freezing.

Ipicked up a clarion vrx575usb dvd unit and the ipod cable from selective sound and I finally had a chance to get the ipod portion in. Just wana say thanks to the guys at selective sound for hooking me up with it, and getting that shipping issue sorted out quick time.

The only problem is that the ipod function keeps freezing. Its got nothing to do with unplugging it without ejecting because it automatically ejects, it just randomly freezes and gets stuck on a screen and no matter what I do (turn off car and restart, switch inputs back and forth ect ect it stays on the screen it froze on till it wants to unfreeze. This is REALLY frustrating because I just dropped a wad of cash on this stuff and it wont work properly. I had it installed 10 minites and it froze till a half an hour later, then it froze again 2 hours after that.

What should I do?

you might have to give your ipod a quick reboot man..

I've had this happen with my ipod sometimes, but not with my car, just once from using it so much, registrys and on your ipod gets to ****ed, its need cleaning.. try this out

1- press the center button and the menu button in that order and hold for about 3-4 sec until it reboots, you should see the apple logo

2- plug it to your pc, and defrag that bitch.. should takes seconds, and if that doesnt work, then i'd presume you have a defective ipod, cuz those happen too.

but try that out and see if it works out for yah !

Ill give this defraging thing a try, I didnt know you could defrag your ipod. I gotta mention though, its not my ipod thats freezing, its the function on the deck itself that does, ill unplug my ipod and it will be fine but the ipod menu will be frozen. I can switch imputs, the whole deck dosnt freeze just the ipod part.

you need to contact the seller, and either get it set up right, or get a replacement!

reset the deck - update the firmware on the ipod!

If thats doesn't fix it - try another cable - if no fire - Send the deck back!
