no this was the box that i was useing to start off with, i actually had subs mounted in this thing(thought i might show it). k chalk ill have to asks my teach if we have any of that stuff. do you mean the red line chalk or that stuff they can use on chalk boards. the shop im in has a table saw so the cuts will be exact. not like the one up thier where i used a jigg saw.
Caulk not chalk
Caulk is that goo you put around windows and tubs to seal up any holes and make it water-proof / air-tight.
A few box building tips:
* Measure 3 times, cut once.
* Be as accurate as you can, down to 1/32 of an inch.
* Do everything in your power to prevent holes or gaps at the joints - make straight cuts - NEVER use a jig-saw a table saw is best.
* Overhang at the joints is not cool.
* Use wood glue and screws when joining boards
* When the box is assembled run caulk along every join on the inside of the box.
* When cutting the holes for the subs, use a compass of some sort.

No need for a divider. A divider would give the box additional rigidity. Also if one of the two speakers would quit working, the other speaker would still be working on the appropriate air space. But the divider is not necessary.
