Lumina Kid - What are the dimensions of that box?
Either those holes are too big, or that box is not 14" tall? Or was that just a mock-up that was really inaccurate on many counts?

Caulk not chalk

Caulk is that goo you put around windows and tubs to seal up any holes and make it water-proof / air-tight.

A few box building tips:
* Measure 3 times, cut once.
* Be as accurate as you can, down to 1/32 of an inch.
* Do everything in your power to prevent holes or gaps at the joints - make straight cuts - NEVER use a jig-saw a table saw is best.
* Overhang at the joints is not cool.
* Use wood glue and screws when joining boards
* When the box is assembled run caulk along every join on the inside of the box.
* When cutting the holes for the subs, use a compass of some sort.

personally i would put the divider in there.its only one extra cut and few more calculations. and in the long run could save one of your subs if the other one blows
