Line output converter/Signal Processor.
So i got my new whip 02 silverado 5.3l and i want to keep the stock stereo because i love the interior, but i also want to use aftermarket speakers and a sub.
My original idea was to use a line output converter such as the scoshe one you can get for 40$ at futureshop however i realized that since i would be keeping this truck for a while i should use something a little more reliable than a walmart brand.
After some research i decided that the MTX re-q5 would be a great signal processor to do precisely what i need it to do.
My question is, can i use the rear speaker output from the deck through the re-q5 and just connect them to a sub amp using LP and set the crossover for 35HZ? Can i also use the stock radio controls to adjust treble, balance etc?
Ps. Im not going to run the rear speakers because they are just filler 4x6 and dont want to waste any money or time. Yes i realize there is a re-q but i want the bass **** and aux input option.
Thanks for looking!
