here are WAY too many factors in that equation. If you want to make it louder. Buy a louder car. Same excursion, same power.

but really there's things like cancellation between the port and sub as well as standing waves etc.

Enough power to get the most out of it without it dying, so something like 3-5K. Who knows if it'll mechanically/thermally handle that. 250-350A alt + 3 batteries .

Is 3 cubes too much when they recommend 1.7-2.5? That box is asthetically perfect for my cabin-trunk opening - 2" spacing on 3 dimensions, and takes up the entire "throw-in-box" area. I was lucky that it came out as 3 @ 31. Wanna wall it off.

How are the leads on the 2010 BTL's?

When my XXX was working it was in 2.2 @ 36, one day I had forgotten that I had a 20 HZ tone as song #1 on a burned CD, and it was cranked. The sub looked like it was going to jump out of the box but holy cow was it ever a loud 20 HZ. With stock electrical my amp must have not been putting out anywhere near 1500W because 20HZ sounded louder (as in sounded AND actually) than 36-42 HZ tones. I guess that's when xmax > power?

im not going to say it...
daily blows subs just as easily as SPL ... in SPL you are using only a few frequencies +/- your center frequency... chances of blowing your sub are much lower than daily where you need to reproduce a wide range of bass frequencies.( im not talking about SPL overpowering at this moment, where you play 3+ times the subwoofers power handling)

do some research on subwoofer enclosures . and read ALOT

Increase your tuning to 35-38hz. How does your vent length look now? If it's still too long, roll back to 38-40 sqin and see how that looks.

Actually is quite the opposite, further the coil is out the gap, lower the back-emf thus higher current and lower impedance, until you heat up the coil enough to increase the Re.

What is "too long"? You can either have more port area or a shorter port - do I have to model them or is there a guideline to which is better?

Does the port lose force when it's long?

3 cubes each

Port 3.5 W x 12.5 H x 27.25 D
34.66 HZ

Port width 3.25 W x 12.5 H x 27.375 D
33.44 HZ

Port width 3 W x 12.5 H x 27.5 D
32.16 HZ

I like my box moar.

You were the one saying the port was really long. You tell me what's too long..

IMO 53 sqin looks like too much vent.
