they are BY FAR a better sounding sub than the l7's. the kickers make a lot of noise, but the ID MAX sounds good doing it. and you won't have to go over your 500 mark to buy one I don't think.
So what if i get rid of my kickers and go with the ID MAX's ? Using the same amp ?

a proper enclosure will help but L7's are not known for good low end

Personally I'd go for an SSA Icon in a 31hz tuned box if you want really impressive low end extention...
they are just rediculous with throwing out the rock bottom thumps
the sound quality of the Icons is very good

it's way under $500 to

I have never used or heard that particular hifonics amp. but if it really does push 2000rms at 1ohm, i definitely say get two 10" id max in a ported box (separate chambers). (i've used them in sealed and ported, and ported reallly makes a difference on output with these subs, with minimal to no dropoff in SQ if built right)

ID MAX fits your needs/wants perfect. you said you want a SQ sub that hit hard low and is still efficient. lol, that defines that sub. just read up some review on them , they are really really good. they are an all round sub that shine in everey area. some subs go loud but sound like , some sound great but at inefficient. no worries with these.

two of them is definitely over the $500 mark though. more like $800 im thinking.

im really not to sure on the prices. im just geussing the current prices, so as far as pricing goes, don't go by what i say. but i do know one 10" would be under $500. custom auto radio in whitby carries image dynamics.

Thank you, i forgot about digital designs... How much do they cst around and are there any retailers here in canada who deal with them ? I would love to buy two 12" 9500's.

By the way, my car has as a very efficient 120 amp alternator (2003 BMW 530i) and i does not have any high output alternators out there. Is it possible to run about 2600 RMS on that with a yellow top? Currently i have 1900 RMS without any problems at all and i dont even have a yellow top right now!

Let me know, Thanks.
