looking to upgrade

well i think my amp is going to poop because when its plugged in, i go to start my car in the morning and it wont start, then i unplug it, and it starts.
anyways i want to upgrade my subs and amp anyways, right now i have 2 12" mtx's with dual voice coil, but i would like to upgrade to something better, or what i should look for in buying an amp and subs, i want something that will rattle the throat.
i am driving a 2006 chev malibu, i am running 4 guage wire.

thanks in advance

If buying online is an option, probably be worth a browse; http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i857_car-audio.html

What sort of music do you mainly listen to? What sort of budget do you have in mind?

Agreed.

Also check out Alpines type R 12" (if you wanna stick to that size), can find them at a reasonable price and there very nice subs.

well i listen to mostly rap, but i like to listen to everything at the same time, but when listening to rap i want to have some nice bass
now when buying 2 alpines, what rating should i be looking for in the sub, and how will i know if the amp would work with the sub.

id probably like to spend around $600 total, maybe even go used if i could
what about this?

For 600.00 you can get 2 type r 12's and a 1700 watt rms hifonics brutus...it'll rattle your throat and everything else in the right ported box. The amp is a little over powered for the subs but they can handle it.

or would http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-MAXP2960.html be good?
since im just amping my subs, ill only need a 2 channel correct, i can always get another amp to wire my speakers later?

why is this amp worth more but less specs?
