in a proper SQ setup, the sub should be playing such a small range of frequencies that just about any sub properly powered in the proper enclosure will do the trick.

it's ridiculous to think you need to spend the amount of money mentioned in this thread to get an "sq" sub.

sub should be the very least of your concerns in a true sq car.

I think a lot of people mis-use the term "sound quality", where they really mean they want it to sound good with 3200 watts.

Take the advice of true world champions rather than people with an agenda.

(I'm not talking about me, I didn't mention a sub)

as a matter of fact, I've never heard a world champion car with any of these mentioned subs other than the kicker and the type X.....meh

very good answer....

if I was gonna go with a brand name sub that had an outstanding
track record for winning world SQ championships it would be the
JBL Wgti...
they suck though based on the fact they are disposable....
JBL will NOT sell cone kits for the Wgti subs...I have tried several times
with the same result (not available)

still one nice sounding woofer though

very ugly IMO..it's even made out of plastic on the MKll model
I have owned the two previous models of GTI subs and they looked
much nicer with the paper cap that matched the cone

Ok, so far i learned that its pretty much on enclosure then an " SQ Sub ". I love the Kickers in fact they get really loud even the cars next to me at a light start vibrate lol but i dont know why one of the subs cracked and has holes in it ? I can tell by looking at them at Volume 23 MAX that they cannot take anymore . ??? I dont know u guys know better .

The shop was in Kitchener ( urban disturbance ) he made the box and he asked me for the Kickers Manual and asked me what i wanted out of the sub and i said i want loud (SPL), so yeah he made it to the sub woofers specs.
