Loudest SQ Subwoofer ?
#42
maybe try to find two used si mag v3's. They can handle 1500 rms each and they sound very very good sealed or ported. Like mentioned before though, in a true sq system subs play a small role. If you're looking for a sql type system(i know theres no such thing as sql) or bass that can get very very loud and still sound good i would choose, jbl gti's, w7's, si mag v3's, idmax's and the list goes on.

Guys i got my answers from the others, you gotta stop arguing a about the L7's. But my personal experience wasn't bad with them, they get LOUD but SQ is not the best. It depends on the box, cuz i when i got mine i told the guy that i want to get LOUD and he built it to that specs so that's why it doesn't sound the best i guess.

sounds more like farts than notes...bad SQ that sounds funny...LOL
anyways..enough on squares..I get them every morning in a bowl of shreddies
anyways to the OP
really supprized no one has even mentioned the JL W7 or the RE XXX
the RE is a little peaky but it's a good sounding loud sub..
just getting ready to fire up the Orion HCCA..no Idea what it sounds like
yet but it looks like it bangs

All I know is that the L5's, L7's and SoloX that I've owned have been some of the best subs I've ever used.
I'll never claim to even KNOW when something sounds "good" but I know they took a beating and always did the job for me without any complaints!

I think the problem with the square subs (and I could be wrong(again)) is that they were primarily designed with SPL in mind, therefore most of it's applications were probably SPL based, I'm sure that if someone with your box building skills were to design and build a box with pure SQ in mind for it, you'd be impressed (or at least less unimpressed)
