My only suggestion would be to deal with distributers that will not sell to FS and other chains. I believe kankar has 3 lines which FS does not have any rights to I myself have Macrom. I will not lose the quality of my line by selling in that way. Independents is our only goal. If your interested fire me a e-mail I'll ancwer any questions you have.

other wise you really can not compete.

The problem is FS carries most of the entry level brands that appeal to a great deal of the market. It is hard to avoid selling the brands that do high volume.

There is infact well documented proof in the industry of deals like that mentioned above do take place, but it is not in the best interest of most dealers to start naming names. No dealer like to get "blacklisted". Now one case in point that I will mention as I have now been told will be prevented. Whether this is great lip service or not is something else. Last year Panasonic had a couple of deals that were infact offered to the indipendent dealers, these clearout prices as discussed above were available to any dealer. If the dealer did not pick up on the deal, that was their fault. But in the indipendent dealers defence Panasonic made the requirements so high that the indipendent could not usually afford the purchase. IE: Panasonic has a blow out on 4 models of cd players. The cost has dropped by $50.00 on the basic model and $75.00 on the upgrade model and $125 on the top model in the "special purchase". The problem was not the price offered, it was the fact that you must buy a minimum of 50 units. This fact made the purchase beyond the capabilities of most independent retailers but Panasonic had to offer it to us so that we had the option of saying no, all the time they knew that very few indipendent dealers could afford the "special purchase". It was geared 100% to the big box guys as Panasonic knew that they were the people who could afford the product. Marketing 101. This year Panasonic has told us that all dealers, large and small will be paying the same price. I hope that they will hold true to this fact and were not just giving us lip service.

i apprecate the advice of carrying something differnet
in amps and subs i do
as in staying competative as dukk said most of the time theres no problem
what i have a problem with is the product being sold to a middle man who then liquidates it to pawn shops and anybody looking to buy a radio
they are undermining the very markets that they set up
this product is not the year end blow out stuff or the regularly sold product
but product that is ditches at really low prices all so that the president at pintosonic canada keeps pintosonic japan happy
im just using pintosonic as a general name
the japanese companys have quartet year targets and when business is slow they must move product out the back door as i call it
to meet there targets
these deals are not offered to the dealers
they are offered to people with multi millons of dollar
then these people who just bought this stuff just dump it to anybody they chose to sell it

im just stating the facts im not here to argue it just discuss it
maybe this is the wrong venue to discuss this as most people don't try and run a store
