It hit 154.8 with two zr 1000's running it, and the X 18 only has 1 inch of xmax. It also sounded killer with four sets of sperates with it. The Jack Hammer with 2.5 inches of xmax will easily hit over 160 in a box built for sound. Who needs any more than that?
I think you're the one who needs to check into the nearest crackhouse, You can buy a jackhammer, and I will save $9200 and get any 12" Mainstream SPL sub (RE MT, DD 9512, Fi BTL, Cactus/TRF/T3 12"). I will test mine out for a month, and you can test your jackhammer out for a year, I bet I could still do the same damn number.

Ok ok now how is this if the whole premise behind spl is how much air you can move and the jack hammer has way more cone area and more xmax how can a 12 inch sub in the same vehicle do the same i just wanna know

Ok, well mabey everyone should stop freaking out and arguing. This is exactly what happens any time someone mentions the jackhammer.
No one has tested it in an SPL Application, and until someone does, no one knows how loud it is, period.
Who knows, mabey it is the next greatest thing ever, or mabey wen you feed it more power then its rated for it will grenade because of its weight. Who knows.
Theres a guy in the states with one in a van, in somthing rediculous like 20-30 cubes, everyones waiting on him to put up a number because hes been talking about it for a year or so. so we'll see what happens, until then, SHUT UP about this damn thing, its just gonna be a never ending argument because theres no proof for or against.
Oh and Toddyboy, SPL isn't just about moving the most air, theres an entire post that happened not to long ago that has over 100 posts trying to explain how it works, and another one actually called somethign like, understanding SPL scores or something.
Sorry for the rant, but its just a stupid topic to argue about.
and i'm with yuli, best sub ever..LOL

This is basically how i see it.
If the main claim that the jackhammer has is its theoretical high output in terms of spl due to the 22" cone that it boasts. I think that is going to be its drawback
Everyone is claiming (without proof) how great of a sub is it due to the 22" cone, well, if the jackhammer starts rearing its head in the competiton scene, i would imagine that the rules would be altered to suit the "advantage" that a cone that is 4" larger than is currently recognized in dbdrag rules.
So with that you will be running a single 22" jackhammer against 2, maybe 3 18" subs to be in the same class, where did the advantage go?
and on a side note, I have seen very impressive numbers hit with 10's and 12's, even single 10's or 12's, so maybe, just maybe cone area is not all that there is to spl
thats just my 2 cents
