What do you guys think is a fair price to install a pair of 6.5 componemts with crossovers in a 2003 Jetta
This would mean to remove factory speakers and with the door panels off then install some B-quiet(supplied) Door spacers are also supplied
I was quoted $200.00

Thanks

That is a great price to mount 4 speakers, sound deadening, 2 crossovers, new wiring and manufacture some spacers. Pay the man.

sound reasonable - it's probably a 4 hour job at least.

Great way to get out of paying extra - pay before the job is started. People screw us with that all the time. When something else is needed, they say "oh, I only have access to $xxxx per day on my account. Sorry"

If it is a retail store that's doing the work, that's a steal. If it's a private install, that's about fair for the amount of work involved. We usually charge $150 for component install and $100ish for sound dampening front doors, all plus tax. Who is doing it?

They have to remove the front door panels install the b-quiet and install the speakers.

Why not do it yourself? It is very easy to do and it will be a good learning experience for you.
