need help with amp killing my Battery

need help with amp killing my Battery

Hi guys I have a Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1D running 2 kicker 12" CVX subs and a Kicker ZX650.4 running my front 4 speakers but it is keeps killing my battery. I have the big 3 set up other then that everything else is stock what can I do??? Oh yeah it is installed in a 2002 pontiac sunfire.

Make sure battery power and ground connections are clean. Besides that, you should look at upgrading battery and make sure the alternator is working well. With that much power you could look into multiple batteries and upgrading alternator. Depends on budget.

Also check the ground return impedence if you are not grounding direct to the battery. In any case to me though aside from what I just mentioned, you have a classic case of champagne taste with beer budget. An amp can't make power unless it gets it. Address the alternator for sure and the battery.
