So I have a Planet Audio: Class D 2000W Monoblock Apocalypse Series Power Amplifier
It was paired with a JL Audio 12" W7 and it sounded great. So about a month ago I moved my W7 from my car to my house to fix the grille which had been damaged. To make a long story short, my house burned to the ground and the W7 is now ash. Luckily nobody was hurt but everything in the house was lost.
So I'd like to get a replacement that sounds decent but given the situation I can't afford anything in the W7 price range. Any recommendations will be appreciated!

 

How much money do you have to buy subwoofer?
and do you want low bass or mid bass?what kind of music do you listen to? rap or trance or pop?

 

Mostly rap music but trance as well. I'd like to spend as little as possible but definitely under $400. Side note, I can only fit one sub in my car so 2 isn't an option.

 

kicker l7 12 and cvx12 and soundstream splx12HF have really good prices.
And they are really good subwoofers.

I was looking at the L7 and liked it. Do you think my amp would be too much for it? It's rated at 1400 rms
If it is compatible would I have to mess with the amp at all or could I just leave it the way it was set up for my JL W7 12"

 

yes you can buy l7 dual 4 ohm . set up at 2 ohm. l7 can withstand 1000_1200. so you can set up l7 with your amp but you need to control amplifier gain.
