Thanks for doing the deed there and getting the ol screwdriver out. It is far easier to recommend things when we have the proper information in front of us. Use the amp as it was before, channels 1 and 2 to drive the new speakers, channels 3&4 bridged to drive the sub (as it is now confirmed to be a 4 ohm version).

Hertz are good speakers, mind you this is also highly subjective. That same person could also have told you that Audiobahn are the best because they use the largest amount of chrome in their speakers. There are lots of great speakers on the market. Consider the Morel, Focal and Eclipse lines as well.

The F400s is rated at 40rmsx4@4ohm or 100rmsx2@4ohm at 12v. Realistically at normal vehicle voltage it will be a bit more but still it ain't much juice.

Let's assume your sub is the BTW124. These are rated at 200rms so even bridged your amp isn't going to be pushing your sub overly hard but since it's an efficient driver it should be enough to get decent response from it.

You'll only have 40rmsx2 left for your main speakers so look for an efficient set.

Comps or Coax?

An excellent sounding comp set that doesn't need a ton of power and won't break the bank would be the Pioneer 720PRS set.
