Need Some Setup Advice - Complete Newbie

I've been looking over the threads and there's a ton of info here..

If anyone can help me with my setup I would appreciate it...

Here's the context:

2002 Protege 5
Alpine 9885 deck
Listen almost only to Alternative Rock, Indie, and Electronic.

Now, I'd like to spend around 800 - 1000 dollars.

In terms of bang for my buck, what's the best thing I can do for sound quality.

Thanks for your help.

hey man, you are in the exact same position i was, i joined this site wanting some loud and clear speakers, every audio shop showed me and told me something diffrent it was like not knowing anything about cars and going out to all the diff lots and listening to car salesmen you just get frustrated very easily.

go back and look at my posts you will see some of my questions are real newbie questions.

i can tell you for sure 800-1000 canadian can get you some nice speakers,

ive spent around that and what i got was a roll of brown bread sound deadner, marcom 6 3/4" front speakers and macrom 6x9 rear speakers, 16 guage wiring all around and a good amp.
