Need subwoofer advice!

Dude I know you don't want to buy used, but you'd rather have some good-quality used gear rather than P#'s, and you'll be much more pleased with it. I bought an 05 RE XXX 12 for 350 and a 1500W amp for 250, both used, and I got a box made for 300 but I overpayed. Just because something is BNIB doesn't mean it'll last longer than a much stronger, used driver. I've had 2 P2's or P1's and they sucked. Two P's will run you $560 before tax. IMO buy one nice sub around 800W, power it with a 600W amp, in a ported box a 12, or a sealed a 15. I had a compVR 15 sealed on 600W and it was noice on the lows. You'll eventually want a re-cone for two woofers also. In the long run this'll be better.

Hi,
Finally I have my p2l-212 and mrp-650 installed in my trunk, I only need to fix the amp so it doesn't move.
I am currently running the amp at half while I break in the subs and in 2 weeks I will put it to 3/4 or where ever I can without having distortion.
If you have some advice to set it up, bass boost, power, etc.. I would like to read them.
Thank you a lot for the support you guys provided me.

I keep my subwoofer in the back seat of my 2002 Elantra. Its always something you could try. I have a 10" Alpine TypeS in a giant band-pass box. I'm going to, eventually, have a sealed enclosure made for this sub. At that point, I may move it into the trunk, if it sounds better there.
At least when the woofer is in the passenger area with you, you'll be able to hear (hopefully) if there's anything wonky going on.
I also found that my trunk lid behind my rear seats rattles a bit when the sub is in the trunk. But its a Hyundai. May not be a problem for your Protege.
