Some one will be quick to correct me here, but here's how I see car audio.
there's my 15,80,5 rule..
this applies to all hardware in mobile audio (IMO)
15% is garbage
80% is good
5% is great

in the case of this post, both decks fall into the 80% category.
keep in mind this a car and comparing it to home audio is just not fair. In home audio some people can hear a 1% difference in quality, in a car, even 10% better isn't audible, since it's sound were talking about, if you can't hear the difference, there really is no difference.

what are the odds that anyone who has replied to this thread has heard the exact two decks in question and did a true A/B comparison, same car, same equipment, same source music, same EVERYTHING and heard a difference in the two decks?.....I'm guessing zero (sound boards don't count) so all you're getting is the opinion of what people own or would own if they had to pick between the two.

"Audiophile Quality"....this one always makes me laugh.....the dictionary defines "Audiophile" as: "a person who is especially interested in high-fidelity sound reproduction."

Do you not think that both deck manufacturers attempted to achieve this?

In home audio, there can be noticeable differences between different pieces of hardware. I don't really hear this discussed too much in car audio. Where are these debates? Are (quality) headunits really created basically equal in terms of fidelity? Do most choose their HU's based on looks and features?

sorry if im hijerking this thread

" I have used my deck for 2 years or something, and I like it"

Pioneer P9, Alpine F1, Macintosh, Clarion DRZ9255....and a bunch of impossible to get stuff from Japan.

price wise I'd probably go with the Clarion listed above, best bang for buck IMO.

Your Nak is a good deck, I'd probably try a little harder to fix the problem (not with a line driver, but if you have one available, by all means give it a shot) or even sent the Nak in for repairs if you need it.
