New here and please critic my tiny setup

Hi guys, I've been doing readings on car audio stuff and just found this place today. Totally awesome btw.

Anyways, I'm trying to construct my first car audio setup. My requirements were 1. tight budget
2. something decent is good enough, and
3. use as little space as possible.

So, here's what I've come up with so far:

Alpine CDA-9884 receiver
Alpine SPR-17C or SPR-17S front speakers (2-100 rms, 87dB@1V, 67-20KHz)
Alpine MRP-F306 4 channel amp bridged into 2 (30 RMS x 4, or 80 RMS x 2)
Stock speakers rear speakers (might even turn them off)

And now, questions:

1. Would I get some decent sound?
2. Do I need sound deadening at all for this setup?
3. Will I hear any difference between coax and component with this setup?
4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I read, this amp can be bridged to a 2-channel amp, and I can run the front speakers. Should I do this, or get a Rockford 250.2 amp? Which is 60 RMS x 2.
5. Would I be OK for bass without a sub?
6. How much should I spend on wirings? Do I need to get an amp kit? They are like $100 which seems really expensive.

I'm totally new to car audio, so please criticize away

Thank you.

nothing to criticize at all, good start. I'm not sure why you'd want to run a 4 channel amp bridged into two if you dont have to? unless of course you already own the amp then for sure, thats the way to go, but if you're only going to run two channels and don't have an amp yet, get a two channel unless you plan to expand or go active later?

the equipment you picked is good stuff for the money.

as for deadening I'd definitely always recommend doing at the very least the doors.

I prefer components to coaxials but thats install dependant, you "should" get a little more midbass out of the components, but not always.

As for not needing a sub?...depends...you wont be getting much bass without one, I suggest getting the door speakers, turning off the rears as you mentioned and seeing how you feel about the bass, I'm guessing you'll want more.

I'm not a big fan of expensive wiring, I'd go to a surplus store and get the cheapest of the size wire you need, you won't need a kit, cheaper to assemble yourself unless you find a great deal on one? (don't buy into the hype unless someone PROVES it to you that one wire is better than the other.

1. you should.
2. the doors would help, try to seal them up as best you can to form an enclosure for the midbass.
3. components can sound better because of separate crossover (better cross over) and because you can place the tweeters in better locations.
4. yes you can run it bridged for 80x2 as you stated...no need for the RF.
5. depends on how much bass you like and how well the doors are sealed and the speakers are installed.
6. Buy an amp kit that is good for 300-400 watts rms if you're not planning to add more to your system...they will be relatively cheap (under 50.00), If you are planning to add more amps and a subwoofer later, then get an appropriate kit (800-1000 watts etc...)

Thank you for the quick reply!

So what kind of material can I use for sound deadening besides dynamat? It's pretty expensive from what I've searched, $100 for something like 10 square feet.

For now I'll run rear stockers, or have them off. I might get something after market for the fill later, but from what I've read, the rears are not as important, and there's no need to amp them unless I buy expensive stuff, correct?

About the amp, I guess I should've phrased my question better. If my thought about the rear speakers are correct, given the same price, should I get the Rockford 250.2, or the Alpine MRP-F306 bridged into a 2 channel?

The reason I want to bridge the MRP-F306 is because it's only rated 30 RMS/channel, and my speakers will be 2-100, which I thought one channel will not have enough power to, well, power each speaker.

Is there any site or tutorial that tells me exactly what wires, connectors, fuses, etc I'll need for a DIY receiver/speaker/amp install? I have all the cutting/wiring tools, might as well build the wirings myself to save some money.

Thank you.
