I have a question about tiny subs...
Ok, I don't know what the heck happened but I just posted a thread about this but I can't find it. The ironic part is this thread is about finding another thread that I can't find. HAHA (did that make sense?). So I am sorry if this thread already exists...
ANYWAYS. I have been trying to find that thread about the tiny 2 or 3 inch subwoofers that can take like 100watts. I did many searches on this site but came up with nothing. I was also wondering if these subwoofers can be bought anywhere or if they were custom made for the heck of it. Thanks for the info .

Come on! Does any one know? There was even a movie attached to it and while I watched the movie I was in awe over the bass that this little sub produced. I know someone on this board has to know where the link is.

you can do some interesting things with tiny speakers to get big sound... but IMO going that small is a waste unless you are forced to use a small speaker because of space constraints.... and if thats the case big sound may be still be impossible... lol
anyway, I think parts express has some low freq. drivers that are very small..... they seem to be popular with the HT crowd who wants a small full range speaker boxes that can play down low and for those who want even bigger sound who play with line arrays...
As far as my tastes Id look at the tang band 6.5s that have 10+ mm of xmax...... several of them in full range cabs might be interesting... but for sub bass alone Id probably buy larger subs.............. like 2 x 15s for example...

not sure if these are what your thinking about but I have something similar in my car. Auroa Bass Shakers. They creat the bass feeling but no sound. They get mounted directly to the seat, be it in a car or couch or theater seat. Run off of 50w rms. http://www.aurasound.com/
They provide more bang for the buck then a sub IMO. Since they cost about $300 including the amp. The sub was $1100 and it doesn't add anywhers near 4x the effect the bass shakers do. Everybody seems to think you need a sub, I don't think they are necessary.
