Alpine CDA-117 came with 2 small metal peices, and tiny screw

My CDA-117 is about installed. But it came with these two small metal straps. they can't be to secure the rear of the unit; there are two, and each one only has one screwhole.

It also came with a tiny black screw.

Anyone know what these two are for??

Thanks

Have you checked your manual? Are the "straps" the deck keys that release it from the cage that secures it into a din slot?

Some decks come with a single screw to permanently attach the faceplate to the body if u never plan on removing the face.

Checked the manual - doesn't go into any great detail as to what comes with the unit. Has a list, no pics.

Anyways, that, coupled with a hunt for the only youtube video that mentions them confirms those are the bracket keys. But I still have no idea what this little black screw is for. . .

I'm still betting the screw is to permanently attach the faceplate. Hunt around the perimeter of the front of the deck and see it there's a spot to secure the face.

The screw is to disable the detach face, as mentioned. Most consumers have no reason to do this, but retailers do it to display units.

would that not be a screw to go into the chassis of the deck in the back to fix it to the vehicle?

Keys and a security screw.
keys you'll want to hold on to, especially if you're using the cage.

Thanks guys; will keep the bracket keys and indeed, the screw was to secure the faceplate -- called Alpine on Monday. Would have called initially, but it was Sunday. Thanks for your help everyone.
