new pioneer amps

just got my hands on the brand new class d pioneer amp. mercy sakes alive is this thing beautiful, it weighs in a a paltry 16 pounds, only draws 70 amps at full tilt, pumps out and astounding 3000w at peak and 1500w at 2ohms rms.and is strappable!!!! all for under 1000.00. gentlemen the new ground pounder amp is officially here.

VERY cool amp man! they will do alot of power, for such a little thing. i can't wait till i get to try mine both strapped at .5ohms or lower I'll post some street tests od them when i get to

Hey beamrider,

Glad you like it! Stapping them is also really easy with just an RCA cable between the amps & setting them as either "master" or "slave". That's it!
Are you putting one on the display board yet? I'll be by next week to see you guys & would love to see it perform.

How can an amp that draws 70 amps of current produce 3000 watts, or even 1500 watts?.

800 watts RMS is about what a typical class D amp is capable of at a 70 amp current draw.

Yeah, 14.4volts*70amps ~ 1000watts at 100% efficiency, which we all know no amp is capable of.

sorry guys this amp showed up at 530pm yesterday at work and i just pulled it out of the box and was reading off the owners manul, we dont even have it on the board yet!!! so if some of the specs sound overley cool......... we will find out soon enough once we test it.
