So true.
I've been through all this before with 4 speakers, a sub and a 4 ch. amp. The speakers were getting 75w RMS and the sub 150w. The speakers were rated for 75w rms and the sub was 500w rms. Sounded pretty darn good!
Still with the same sub and speakers I'm pushing 150 rms per channel and 750 to the sub. Nothing has blown. However, I know the limit of the speakers and know not to crank it to max just because the **** will go there. You dont' need a 60 watt amp for a 60 watt speaker. Get something close and it will be fine. A little over or under power from the spec'd rms of the speaker won't hurt it. It's clipping and distortion that will kill it.

how is this amp?
MTX thunder tc6004
I can get it for about 235 shipped seems like the specs are right

puts out 150 watts at 2 ohms and 300 watts bridged to 4 ohms
seems like a match made in heaven
