New SQ-aimed system in the Audi
#21
The tonal quality and dynamic range are world class in that amp I can show you a bunch of head to head tests on that amp that would surprize you.Crossovers are one of the most controled out.
Rated at 15x4 it does around 125x4 or so

I could look into that.
For a SQ oriented sub, what should I be watching out for? I've had my eye on the JL w7s, but am not sure anymore. Also, would have to have a mono amp to go with that. Kicker again maybe?

This is what Veeman suggests
I was thinking you would be more happy with someting like this
RE AUDIO SE
RE AUDIO SX
Digital Designs 2500
Digital Designs 3500
And can be had for around the same cash as the OZ

And for sub amp, there's such a huge variety I wouldn't know where to start.
The OZ's look very nice, well priced, and pretty powerful. Kinda wish there was somewhere around here that actually carried them so I could go for a listen. Dont think there is though. Same for DD, can't listen to them either. The DD3500 looks like a beast though =O.
I dont know much about RE, and yet again nobody around here carries them D=. Also hard to find prices for them. I'm liking the SX though.

As for a test on the DD I can help you anytime you are my way. They are world class.RE is in about the same clas as DD but maybe not as well built but close in proformance
As for sub amps let leave this till we know on a sub and coil config. you will be going with because there is a lot out there
I seen this the other day as someones sig on a forum so maybe you will get a giggle from it as well
" Get a DD woofer if you want mean looking woofer.
Do you want a woofer that looks like arnold schwarzenegger or justin timberlake? "

Mmmmmm Arnold Schwarzenegger
I actually think the DD2500 would be pretty cool. Looks very powerful, and after asking some other people about it I am pretty confident in its sound.
Where does that bring us?
Could you explain this a bit? It makes sense, but I'm not sure why.
I was also beginning to think of how I'd actually go about mounting the sub in the car. I have a fairly big trunk, so I could probably build a box for it. I was talking with one of the guys who installs stereos, and he said he'd be able to help me out in terms of designing a box to accommodate the sub and actually make it perform. Seems like that's a big part of actually having a good sounding system.
Also I'm wondering what I'm going to have to do to actually power the z450 and mono sub amp. But i guess actually choosing the sub amp would put us farther ahead on that one.
Then for wires. But that later.
