one sub or two as we need to see what the final ohm is to find an amp to match. The 2500 is a good choice forsure they are dual 4 ohm coils per sub..So we take the number of subs by the number of coils to find your final load and then on to finding a amp.
Box I can spec one out for you later to the specs and you would be more then happy.
The ZX450 works with small power for its size and output.Your mono amp is the kicker as it may draw 5 or more times the juice depending on amp.

I think just the one. Seeing as how this is supposed to be a fairly budget system, dont know if i'd be able to push two. Also, one is pretty loud by itself i think. And I'm hoping i dont have to give up too much trunkspace to a sub.
So yeah, just the one.

A couple pictures of the trunk. Mmm interesting. Fairly spacious, but I know i'll end up using the ski-hole-thing-to-put-the-skis-through-to-the-back-seat, and the rear speaker holders would be mounted there (by the bit of metal you see at back of trunk in picture 2).

Anyways, just to give an idea for where a box would have to fit.

I'm thinking kinda off to the side, maybe a corner, which would leave a fair portion of the trunk still available for actual use.. What do you have in mind?
I think there's quite a bit of space to work with though.

Gaaah edit time limit D=. Sorry, double post.

That raised bit comes out 12 inches from the back of the trunk, but the ski-pass-thing protrudes about 3 inches aswell. It's possible i could take that off and have it be flush against the back though.
That part is 13in from the top of the trunk (height).

well what do you think of a fender wall box(in the last picture below the spring)
Then just use a round port that you can even extend to the rear deck for better transfer if you wanted.

That's actually what I was thinking =P. That would work. But that would mean i'd actually have to have something to power that sub.

I'm thinking you're not going be even close to your budget! I would start getting some actual prices for the stuff you're considering, and ancillary expenses before you get too excited. It's easy to say this or that product will be around the same as another item, but until you actually have the prices it's meaningless. All those little extra amounts add up really quickly. Just to clarify, you initially had a budget of 600-800, no sub system, and you're now looking at Morel speakers, DD sub, custom sub enclosure, amp(s), wiring, and an Eclipse deck. I am going to go out on a limb and say that there is no way you'll get that for under 800.00...not even used! If your budget has increased, great, but if it hasn't, you need to drop back and seriously consider what you want. This a typical thread that gets way out of control fuelled by enthusiasts and serious car audiophiles that lose site of the objective. What you should get out of this is ideas. Try and incorporate the ones you like into your budget. Unfortunately, like most of us on here, you're probably never going to be really satisfied. Welcome to car audio!

Well put. Back to the infinities? =P
hardwrkr still has one of his OZ's for sale...

Assuming i get a job and rack up another $200 (what.. 2 weeks work?), that leaves around 150 for a mono amp. Then the wiring/battery/box.

One of my buddies has offered to help me w/ the box though. We'll see how much that'll be.

Atleast I'm figuring what to look for in a system like this, and how to piece things together.

Or
http://www.canadiancaraudio.com/onli...on-amp-fs.html <-- There's DD for 200? In ottawa too? =O
