New System

I am very new to this system business so im really trying to get the basics on what I need for a complete Sub system.

I already have a deck which amplifies my speakers but I am going to install two subs.

Up to now I have 2 KENWOOD KFC-W2511 10", with KENWOOD KAC-8104D 1000W Class D Mono Amplifier but I need a wiring kit to install it which I have not decided on yet.

Is this a good setup for subs and amp? ie enough power etc? What kind of wiring kit should I use or look for when getting one? Anything missing?

for 500watts RMS ( forget peak power right now lol ) for 500watt its allright but 2 10's... well its good to start anyway. good thump in da trunk lol. what kinda car???? if its what your name says ( escalade ) 2 10's to me wont cut it. it will sound sorta hollo. i have a van witch is just as big as of interieur volume and 2 10's was crap. 12's or 15's would be great for a vehicle that size for that power range.

anyway looks like a solid system to me. ohh almost forgot. get 4gauge power wire and ground.

Yea I have an Escalade EXT. So the cab is kinda small, no big trunk. Not looking for anything too strong. But thanks for the advice

8104d is a great bang for the buck amp, and the 2511 subs are awesome at an entry level peice, I know as I sell both products. They are great for entry level systems, but if your actually rollin in a caddy, I'm sorry but get something with a bit more quality and power. My recomendation would be a kenwood excelon X10 monoblock, and get either their excelon shallow subs if space is an issue (I have 1 12' running off an X40 and it sounds amazing), or get into their regular size excelon subs if you can fit them. And I would recomend an X40 to run your speakers instead of deck power. If not the subs will drown out the vocals, and unless your 16-19, you prob won't be happy with the sound quality of your system. That is just my opinion. An X10, X40, and 2 12's would make you very happy.

And if your rolling a caddy, money shouldn't be an issue I would assume, unless you don't actually rock a Lade, lol

Agreed. If you roll in style, you cant have subpar stereo. People are gonna laugh. It's like having a new 2009 Ferrari with 1980 Lada interior.
