Newbie needs help

Brand aside, the 3rd salesman gave you the SQ-advice that probably makes most sense and just the fact that he told you your funds would be better directed towards buying better front stage speakers than buying so so fronts so you could afford rears too would make me inclined to take a closer look at his product line. I am rocking Hertz HSK 165s in an 04 Dakota Quad Cab right now and LOVE them. Can probably be had for mid 3s. There seems to be very smooth frequency response translating to natural sounds with less EQ necessary than in alot of other speakers Ive had.

I'm going to go with eHarri3. I'd suggest keeping the rear speakers stock, and use the money you'd spend on a rear set, towards the purchase of the HSK165's.

Also, MR2NR might still have some MB Quart Premium speakers for a great price. And they're definitely worth looking into. I have a set on lay-away right now, that'll go in my fiancee's car. I've been running MBQ Reference 6.5" component for the past 5 years, and they're beautiful speakers. The Premiums are the superior line.
