Not Just Another Slim Sub Thread!

I know there are a bunch of, "What's the best shallow sub?" threads (in which the conclusion seems to be the Kicker CVT) but I'd like to know what's the best shallow sub for rock or metal. Which one is the best at handling quick bass beats?

I'm not looking for pounding bass that annoys neighbors - though, the amp I'll be using puts out 340RMS watts. I simply want to accent my system, with which I play basically only hard rock and metal. I need a slim design sub specifically due to space but I don't want flubby bass or a sub that can't keep up when I'm listening to Tool or Opeth.

Thanks for any help!
