Okay guys, my system is finally up and running but I just wanted to make sure of one thing as a friend suggested maybe I have my subs wired to the amp wrong.. I have my magnets outside of the sub box firing in. Do I want to hook the subs up normally or do I want the positive from the sub hooked up to the negative on the amp and negative on the amp hooked up to the positive on the sub so that they are reversed? I have them + to + and - to - now but the magnets get crazy hot this make me think maybe I have it backwards or maybe magnets just get hot and I never knew it because they are usually in the box.. hah hah any advice would be awesome! Thanks again guys!

Jeff

I agree sort of. If one of the subs is reversed then it is imperative to wire that sub in reverse polarity. What you have done is fine, both subs are wired in phase with each other BUT they may be acoustically out of phase with the rest of the system. Play the same song over and over again while you listen to the subs first wired how you have them and then reverse wire both subs, this way they are electrically in phase with each other, but you are reversing the acuoustical in phase. Sometimes it makes a difference in the system, sometimes it does not.
