Old School Vs. New

I'm a car audio newbie and got a cheap set of cerwin vega subs and a zapco ag200 amp. I've since done some research and realize well I lucked out having never heard of zapco apparently they are top notch but ag200 is an older low power amp. I have since continued the research and replaced the subs with a pair of hertz es300 12" 700W peak, 300W rms. I'm not sure if I'm under powering these subs with the ag200 and should replace it or with zapco underating their amps if I'm good to go. Any opinions would be great.

Thanks.

Sounds great. I just don't want to damage the subs by underpowering them.

underpowering doesn't damage subs. distortion and dc current from trying
to make 1000w out of a 200w amp damages subs.
If it sounds clean at the volume you want to listen to it at then that amp is all you need

as long as you dont distort the crap out of them you'll be fine. they are getting really good power right now. and if it sounds good and you are happy then dont be worried about a thing! but if you start cranking the gains then you need to look into a bigger amp, until then just keep your money and enjoy what you have... and hold on to that amp!
