Opinions Needed - Alpine HU
#1
I'm buying a new deck in the next couple of weeks, probably an alpine 9831. I can get it for a really good deal through a buddy of mine.
For those of you who have this deck, please share any negative or positive opinions.

thanks for the opinions.
i was never fond of the fold down faces either until i got my 7995. the tilt feature is awesome. i can't even picture the face sitting straight anymore. it has to be angled.
i have the cda-7995 still but it has problems so i'm getting a new unit. i'm hoping these newer alpines will sound as good.

defro,
from reading the specs i highly agree that the 9833 is better. however the price difference is significant enough for me to stick with the 9831.
and realistically i won't even screw with the eq or crossovers. so the 6 position hpf/lpf and 5 band parametric eq aren't a bonus for me.
i'd like to buy the more capable unit incase i decide to tamper with my sound more but money is a deciding factor unfortunately.

Hey Defro, when you say 10x the deck, you mean just features right. The specs sound wise appear to be the same ie. s/n 105db, freq resp., etc...If you tell me that the 9833 has better parts then I'll have to buy one. I trust your Alpine knoledge!!!
