Optical cable for a Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD

I've had the ICBM 5.1 amp for a few years now (unused) as it was destined to be utilized with a carpc project that didn't pan out.
I recently installed the Pioneer HU and for the time being is just connected straight forward to the cars speakers via the oem wiring.
The AVH-P3100DVD has what appears to be an optical output but it doesn't quite look like a standard toslink/SPDIF optical connection.
If it's at all possible I'd like to connect the two units together utilizing the optical connection on the HU.

Does the Pioneer HU require some special optical cable or is this all just wishfull thinking on my part? The HU has Dolby Digital and DTS out so I'm assuming it's via the optical cable.
Any help would be appreciated since I'd like to tackle this project next week.

Cheers,
John
