overpowering Apline

I have an Alpine MRP-m500 500w 1 Channel mono amp. The amp is 500w x 1 @ 2 ohm or 300w x 1 @ 4 ohm. Now this question is merely curiosity and I do not need advice on getting another amp or anything. I am wondering if this amp would be sufficient to bring down to 1.33 ohm and still be able to function properly. Is the .67 ohm difference enough to shut the amp down?

I would say no, but not 100% sure. Should go into protection.

Will it shut down instantly, no. Will it get a whole pile hotter in a much quicker time period, yes. Will that lead to it shutting down, definitely. Will it result in long term damage, a very good probability. Would I recommend you do this... no.

LoL, just like me, I'm pushing 1.33 Ohm into a Pheonix Gold amp that should do 4 Ohm bridged.

I'm taking chances that the amp may eventually give out. Heat of course being the primary thing at moment. But it's driving three 10" subs in parallel quite nicely. I still need to add/update my front speakers, as right now when volume up, I mainly have bass.

My amp specs:

2 x 75W @ 4 ohms (12V - 0.03% THD)
2 x 100W @ 4 ohms (13.8V)
2 x 110W @ 2 ohms (12V)
2 x 150W @ 2 ohms (13.8V)
1 x 220W @ 4 ohms bridge (12V)
1 x 300W @ 4 ohms bridge (13.8V)
