So the boys of WCES have put together a last minute show on the North Shore this Sunday. A bunch of competitors want some shows so they do all the leg work to put it on themselves........................................ ...............now because of some politics the db Drags portion is in jeapordy cause some one wasn't asked to be involved or whatever the situation was as the exact reasons weren't clear.........................I can only assume because the person who pitched a bitch didn't want it known it was them...........................................

I welcome anyone to fill in a few of these blanks........................................

In a time when there are no shows things like this are sickening.........................

Thoughts ??

Just to fill people in on this show and the snag that happened.
The show was originally supposed to be a barbecue/spl show for WCES and db/drag. It was going to be at somebody's home with a large shop. Mike from Korbon agreed to this as it was not stepping on another db drag retailer's toe's. We decided that this was not going to be the best place to hold a sound-off as there would be poor parking and bathroom facilities. So a shop in North Van was nice enough to offer his parking lot and shop to us for the show. This is where it got to be a problem.
Here is the proper explanation of what transpired. Performance Car stereo does not have a dB drag membership, now they do stand to benefit from the show for free, and that is not fair to a retailer down the street (hypothetically) that has paid for a db drag retail membership and is promoting db drag.
So, long story short, Performance now has a db drag membership, and the show is going on, and everybody is happy and abiding by the guidlines that make db drag such a great sport.

Nice to see you're researched the facts before commenting Tim!!!

It has nothing to do with politics, it has to do with paying the proper fee to have a show sanctioned. I was lead to believe it was a show that was for fun not points; however, they decided that they wanted points -- okay so make it a sanctioned show and pay Wayne Harris the fee.

Luckily, WESTEC was able to help them out and he can sanction their show, which should be a great event and fun will be had by all.

By the way, if someone wants to hold a sanctioned show, a retail membership with DB Dragracing costs $105 US -- much less than they probably spend on advertising the event.

Oh, Tim when are you planning to do the work yourself and put on a show?

Mike.............

1. I asked for someone to fill in the blanks so I never said I had all the information and that is what I was looking for..............

2. Basically someone when out on their own to put on a show for the good of the competitors and it got killed cause someone didn't get their share of the fee's.......................way to go..........

3. 1997-2000 I hosted over a dozen IASCA shows out of MY OWN pocket for the competitors here in BC and 2 in Seattle......................so don't lecture me on not getting involved........................and I didn't bitch and complain about it all the time online like other people do......................

I wasn't directing any comments at you so why you choose to direct them right at me I am not quite sure of but thank you very much...........................
