Power Cable

So I originally had a smaller amp in my car, which was running on a 8 ga. power cable. I now have a bigger class D monoblock amp (900wrms) running on it. I am wanting to add my old 4ch amp to my system, which was originally running on the 8ga. cable, but i'm concerned about the current draw of the system being too much for my small alternator to handle. I'm gonna install a 4ga cable to run my sub amp, and keep the old 8ga cable for the 4ch amp. I'm just wondering if the 4ga cable running the sub amp would help with the lights dimming problem that the sub amp is causing? My headlights are fine (grounding kit/HID bulbs) but the dash board dims quite a lot.

Yes the 4 gauge will help, but for about the 1,000,000th time that it has been brought up on here you also need to do the BIG THREE with at least 4 gauge as well.

as always the big 3 will eliminate the dimming as for adding the 4 ga its a great idea and leaving the 8 ga for the 4 channel is a good idea seperate runs for each amp is nice

sorry, forgot to mention the 3 has been done for almost a year. went the extra mile and got 2ga too. i guess unless this bigger wire helps a bit, i'm gonna have to look at a better alternator than acura has to offer. but do you think i'm gonna run into electrical problems since my lights are already dimming, by adding an extra 10-20 amps of current draw from the 4ch? i'm kinda scared
